5-S BASE Sol-gel on Black Crystal

5-S BASEÔ Sol-gel
Coating is a thin-film, silicone based, polymeric coating specially
designed to protect sensitive surfaces from damage. 5-S BASEÔ
is capable of withstanding heat loads up to 325C with little or no thermal
breakdown. 5-S BASEÔ is commonly
used in applications which require the following properties: transparent
infrared reflection, high solar spectrum absorptance, low thermal
emissivity, encapsulation coating, moderate to high heat load capacity,
controlled porosity, surface protection, anti-corrosion and dielectric
applications. Other applications for this coating are continually
investigated.
Some very interesting applications which are currently being investigated
are as follows: |

films for aerogel fabrication, doped 5-S BASEÔ
conductive films, doped 5-S BASEÔ
for luminescent, photochromic, and photoelectric films, semiconductor-doped
sol-gel optics, and doped 5-S BASEÔ
for ferromagnetic films. |
