 At this time we are offering a revolutionary new heat transfer coating trade named Black Crystal.  This coating is a crystalline metallic alloy with a sol-gel protective overcoat.  The absorption is between 93-95% for the bandwidth range of 190nm - 2700nm.  The thermal IR emittance is between 0.07-0.09 from about 2700nm to far infrared.  These optical properties make this coating very applicable toward solar absorption applications due to its high solar spectrum absorption and low thermal IR emittance.  There are many other applications this coating can be used for such as radiative cooling,  or any other heat transfer processes which need to be optimized.

There are two main components of this product,  the Black Crystal deposition bath,  and the sol-gel over coat.  The metallic alloy component (Black Crystal coating) of this product is electrolytically deposited,  similar to traditional electroplating methods.  The sol-gel overcoat can be deposited by dip or spray techniques.  Depending on which deposition technique is used for the application of the sol-gel over coat will dictate how much sol-gel solution is needed.  We can assist you with calculating this,  please contact us.

• More power - "Spectra Black" as radiation trap: On account of Black Crystal's™ special crystalline structure also performance-oriented possibilities were opened. Especially in periods with little radiation and low angle of the sun Black Crystal™ takes up this kind of radiation more optimal. The consequence is more power up to 15 % (depends on the field of application).
• Black Crystal and the High-Temperature-Area: Beneath the optimal use of collectors for water heating Black Crystal™ opens new areas by using solar energy, e. g. using for process-heat-production, solar cooling, using in the high-temperature-area from 190 °C onward,  for building solar thermal power stations, and so on.
• Certification of charges: All delivered and ordered Black Crystal™ - goods are supplied with certificates of analysis. These certificates show the respective optical property data for Black Crystal surfaces or chemical data for the Black Crystal Bath.
