ELI Thin-film's innovative
new tube coating process
With the electrical and natural gas
energy distribution in a state of utter
chaos, attention has been brought to alternative energy sources such as
solar. Parabolic concentrators and receiver tube applications have been a
proven technology for power generation for several years in California and
many other regions.

Aerogel - A Little Bit of
Almost Nothing
Catching comet dust is no easy feat! When
the spacecraft flies past the comet, the impact velocity of the particles
they are captured will be up to 9 times the speed of a bullet fired from a
rifle. Although the captured particles will each be smaller than a grain of
sand, high-speed capture could alter their shape and chemical composition -
or vaporize them entirely.

Aerogel: Energy-Efficient Material for
Buildings
An ounce of aerogel has the surface area of
10 football fields, and this is only one of its interesting properties.
Aerogel has great potential in a wide range of applications that include
energy-efficient insulation and windows, acoustics, gas-phase catalysis,
battery technology and microelectronics.
